GARY PHILLIPS
Gary Phillips edited the Anthony-winning anthology, The Obama Inheritance: Fifteen Stories of Conspiracy Noir, and written comics such as The Return of Xal-Kor, the Human Cat—a fandom favorite of the 1970s. The Washington Post named his novel One-Shot Harry one of the best mysteries of 2022. He was a staff writer and co-producer on FX’s Snowfall about crack and the CIA in 1980s South Central. His short story “The Two Falcons” was optioned a couple of times by Legendary Entertainment and Culprits, a miniseries on Hulu, used as source material a linked anthology he co-edited with Richard Brewer, Culprits: The Heist Was Just the Beginning.
LEE GOLDBERG
Lee Goldberg is a two-time Edgar & two-time Shamus Award nominee and the #1 New York Times bestselling author of over forty novels, including Calico (a 2024 Western Writers of America Spur Award Finalist for Best Contemporary Western), Malibu Burning, Lost Hills, 15 Monk mysteries, five Fox & O’Hare adventures (co-written with Janet Evanovich), and the new thriller Ashes Never Lie (Sept 2024). He’s written and/or produced many TV shows, including Diagnosis Murder, SeaQuest, Monk, The Glades, and co-created the Hallmark movie series Mystery 101. He’s also the co-founder of Brash Books, which has published over 200 crime novels & thrillers.
DUANE SWIERCZYNSKI
Duane Swierczynski is the New York Times bestselling, Shamus Award-winning, and two-time Edgar-nominated author of eleven novels, including California Bear, Revolver, and Fun & Games, as well as the graphic novels Breakneck and Redhead. Duane sold his short story “Lush” to Lionsgate, wrote the script with Chad Stahelski attached, and worked on a series of polishes on Bird Box for Netflix and an adaption of Dan Simmons’ Darwin’s Blade for NBC/Universal. Along with James Patterson, Duane co-created the Audible Original The Guilty, starring John Lithgow and Bryce Dallas Howard, and co-wrote the bestselling private eye thriller Lion & Lamb. He’s also written over 250 comic books, including Cable, Deadpool, The Immortal Iron Fist, Punisher, Birds of Prey, and Star Wars: Rogue One. His first short story collection, Lush & Other Tales of Boozy Mayhem, was recently published by Cimarron Street Books. A native Philadelphian, Duane now lives in Southern California with his family.
WENDALL THOMAS
Wendall Thomas teaches in the Graduate Film School at UCLA, lectures internationally on screenwriting, and has worked as an entertainment reporter, development executive, script consultant, and film and television writer for companies including NBC, Disney, PBS, A&E, and Showtime. She writes the Anthony, Macavity, and Lefty-nominated Cyd Redondo screwball mystery series, including this year’s Best Humorous Lefty nominee, Cheap Trills. Her short fiction appears in the crime anthologies Ladies Night, Last Resort, Murder-A-Go-Gos, Crime Under the Sun, and the upcoming Hollywood Kills.
