Who’s that creeping around the internet? Do YOU know? Tracy Webb, Director of External Affairs for the US Attorney’s Office, specializes in crimes related to technology: Internet predators, online dangers of social media and gaming, human trafficking, and malware schemes to exploit children. Ms. Webb will be in conversation with mystery author and SoCalMWA member Ellen Byron to dig deep to find out who’s watching the watchers.

Tracy Webb is Director of External Affairs for the US Attorney’s Office. Tracy supervises press relations and all the law enforcement, community outreach, and crime prevention programs for the Central District of California. Prior to this recent appointment, she was Counsel for Child Abuse Policy and Cyber Crime Prosecution in the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. Tracy spent 32 years as a career prosecutor and is a prominent expert in the areas of technology-facilitated crime and use of technology in our ever-changing world of cyberspace. She is a frequent speaker locally and nationally in the area of technology-facilitated crimes, commercial sex trafficking of children, child abuse, and child exploitation issues. Tracy is also an Emmy award winning producer of a documentary film on gang violence. She recently completed a documentary short on the state of child welfare in Los Angeles County and PSAs on Cyberbullying, Internet Intrusion, and Elder Technology Fraud currently airing on local television stations. Tracy was formerly an active member of the Federal Internet Crimes against Children (ICAC) Task Force and continues as co-chair of the Los Angeles County Cyber Crime Task Force.

She’s written over 200 national magazine articles, and her published plays include the award-winning Graceland.
