Brief plot description: When Lucy enters the classroom of the widely popular
Martin Metzger, a charismatic lecturer in the English department at the
University of California, Berkeley, in the late 1970s, the course of her life is forever changed. She falls in love with Martin at first sight, opening herself
to his world of gurus, experimentation with mind-altering drug, and the
exploration of the sources of creativity. So, when one of Martin's enemies
kills Martin, Lucy sets out to solve the crime.
Character notes: Lucy is herself an academic working on advanced degrees
while taking care of their four children. Other characters are a musician, a
couple of artists, a scientist, a latter day Swami, besides her husband who
is a writer as well as professor.
