Detective Barron grew up in Hollywood, entering the LAPD
academy in 1982. He has since worked all over the city
as an officer, investigator, and supervisor. Career
highlights include working homicide in Wilshire Area and
Pacific Area, Abused Child Unit in Foothill, Gangs in
Rampart and Hollywood and Sex Crimes in Hollywood. He
has acted as a Department Coordinator (expert) for
Detectives, Domestic Violence and Hate Crimes. He is
part of a cadre of on-set Technical Advisors in police
procedure for CBS. He coordinated the first five annual
LEAPS Conferences (Law Enforcement and Private
Security). He instructs for LAPD and private
institutions in police procedures, detective procedures,
interrogations, search warrants and criminology. And he
supervised Rampart CRASH during the infamous Rampart
corruption investigation.
